Mwanza is the second largest city in Tanzania. It is located in the Northwest of the country and is a southern port of Lake Victoria. It is the capital of the surrounding Mwanza Region. The region is located between latitude 10 30' and 30 south of the equator. Longitudinally the region is located between 310 45' and 340 10' east of Greenwich. Regions bordering the Mwanza Region are Kagera to the west, Shinyanga to the south and southeast.
